I kept meaning to make an entry every time I get a new interest, but I haven't been enjoying life (family and pet emergencies) or getting on the computer until more recently. And actually, I started journaling so it felt a bit redundant also writing a blog post about the same topics. I'm going to try my best at writing the five blog posts for this year though!
I finally watched the Gokusen live-action drama, and I was definitely riding that high for a good month or two. I also revisited the manga and although I love it, I don't think it aged too well or expect it to ever get licensed in English LOL. I love both the manga and drama versions of Yankumi, but their demeanor are pretty different. She's depicited soooo much cutesier (compared to badass) in the drama! I also love the second and third seasons, despite the series ended up going a different direction, and I even found those seasons more enjoyable than the first. I'm glad Sawatari had a reoccuring role and was present in all three seasons, and I simply just love characters like that lol like Dr. Crowler from Yu-Gi-Oh! GX.
BTW! YGO TAG FORCE 3 REMAKE WAS ANNOUNCED YAHOOOOOO~~~! I MAINTAIN THAT IT'S THE BEST DATING SIM EVER!!!! *delusional* I will miss the sprites & CGs though, and I kind of wish it wasn't updated to include the new types of summons lol! I will adapt...I WILL LEARN!!!!
I visited the Square Enix Cafe & Ryoko Kui Exhibit! Honestly, both were just so-so but that was within my realm of expectation, and getting to catch up with friends is what made it worthwhile. We ended up deciding to do more online hangouts instead and watch some anime like how we used to during high school. Most recently, we watched Aikatsu! x PriPara The Movie and it made me miss photokatsu!
August was dedicated to Tomb Quest. I ended up watching it five times in person, with different groups (and by myself), and rented it twice to watch online with friends as well. Many thanks to Butter for coordinating and buying tickets again, and I hope we all can watch another SK production next year as well! I also watched with my family, this time including my brother! He generally doesn't like musicals, and the last time we tried watching one together wasn't the best experience, but he said he was tearing up during Tomb Quest! I'm also thankful being able to watch one of the wonderstudy shows with friends, and of course I made them watch the digital ticket with me too. A kind individual also was giving out bracelets this year as well~ The other two times I watched were by myself as last minute decisions. I grabbed a cheap ticket the same day I watched the first time, and I saw that front row seats were available for another weekend so I had to grab that as well!
As expected, I loved the music and AJ was a standout! Joey was also continuously perfecting the Boner Lord voice LOL. I feel like it was perfectly casted, but I can't deny the understudies also nailed their performance. I knew I would love Janaya, but I was also especially impressed by Gabe. I can't choose a favorite song but the inclusion of the violin during Face to Face is so hype. It is definitely one of my top favorite SK musicals and feels like such a natural progression from their earlier works. Tomb Quest is now my personal recommendation as an intro to StarKid!
The theater this year was located at a mall with a bunch of food options (though I kept frequenting the same places) and there was even a Round1!!! It seems like no one plays PIU anymore, which is awesome for me, but all my favorite songs are gone now. I also got a new card since it's been years. My first choice was Gintama, but it was out of stock, so I went with the very funny one with Mr. Blade Honkai Star Rail holding a blowing ball while maintaining a blank expression. Yay!
I was touched that a friend agreed to attend Dolls Party in LA 6 with me, as she has zero interest in BJD (but is enthusiastic about playline dolls). It was both our first time attending, and I told her to make sure she was free because we are going to the tea party! Neither of us won any raffle gifts, and I didn't win the lottery for Tae either. Not that I would have won, but I was very brave and strong to not try for any of the one-offs. It was such a delight seeing so many dolls up close and in person; there were dolls that I didn't think I would like as much as I do that blew me away in person, and honestly all of them are way more gorgeous compared to photos. I previously had no feelings towards Lorina or Nao/Nayu, but now I can't seem to get them out of my mind!
We were also crazy and made appointments to donate blood on Sunday, and my friend offered to drop off my lottery submissions, even though it was raining, since I wouldn't have been able to make it there in time. After some complications, it turned out neither of us were able to donate blood and we ended up having a lot of time to spare. I ended up winning a Dear SD Miyo, yay! I really wanted to bring her home, and I'm so so so enamored by her big eyes. Finally, a girl!, and not for lack of trying (the odds were not in my favor every single lottery I tried for one)! Honestly, getting to see her cute face every day has kept me from crashing out this past week after another bout of misfortune.
Also an update regarding the previous lotteries: I ended up with two Redas...! I thought it would be fun to join the click war after realizing I could purchase and join in on the Japanese (International!) site. I would've waited joining the USA lottery if I had known. I never expected to win one, let alone two... What an expensive live and learn experience.
In other news, I've been super obsessed with Lovebyte.exe. It's currently in early access and the kickstarter is still available for late pledges!!!! While I'm at it, backing Studio Nochi's patreon includes access to the (continuously updating) beta versions of both Lovebyte.exe and another game they're working on called Zip Up, which is super enjoyable especially if you like old flash dress up games! The last time I had as much fun was when playing Our Life: Beginnings & Always back in 2022...LOL I love life and chat sims sooo much and I think all the characters are so cute and fun in Lovebyte! One of the inspirations was Mystic Messenger, which I can totally see, but it honestly also reminds me of reading the pesterlogs in Homestuck. I'm looking forward to the updates and I can't choose a favorite character just yet! Actually, I think the riddlebees are the most funny and psychotic lolololol!
Browsing clips my MCs made and there’s this one titled "What MCs been Waiting for..." 🤔 https://t.co/VR3MtnQbjw
Happy (six year) site anniversary! I TOTALLY remembered, definitely, and I'm back for an update.
I started reading SVSSS fanfics again in January which coincided with the release of the LE hardcover boxset. It was a sign... Of course I purchased it... And I decided to get some Via Lactea books while I'm at it. So far I finished Limerence (which was about as good as I expected it to be /neutral), and I'm currently reading Salad Days. I also got the available volumes for To Rule a Turbulent World, and I preordered the new translation for Little Mushroom as well (geez the drama surrounding it was nuts IMO). The new translation for Golden Terrace is being released this year too!!! I was going to pass on it, since I love the Peach Flower House version so much, but I saw that there are four new side stories?! So I guess I will have to get that too. The timing was great since I was trying to read Little Mushroom on my kindle and reread Golden Terrace back in Jan, but I was sidetracked on both accounts. I'll get around to those reads sometime later this year! Hopefully! Crossing my fingers LOL
BTW a kind and generous soul (u/JazzyArmadillo) has also posted uploads of the E. Danglars Peach Flower House translation of Golden Terrace in PDF form on their reddit page. Go look it up!
Tangentially, I need to finish listening to the ORV vol 3 audiobook. I have one leftover credit, and I can't decide whether to wait and preorder vol 4 once avail or get vol 1 of something else (I'm leaning towards Lout of Count's Family).
Danmei and the timing of Lunar New Year also kindled my interest in Love and Deepspace... I thought I would like Caleb most since he is a freak, but the two that ended up interesting me most are Sylus and Rafayel. Hey, what can I say? What's better than a creature-adjacent male wife that may have the ability to lay eggs...? At least in my mind they can. I especially like Sylus with long hair wearing glasses and golden hanfu, and I need to get my head in the game and start saving for his 3rd myth rerun because he looks like a beautiful CLAMP man in a Malice Mizer PV (sorry this is gibberish). My MC is so cute, I decided she will overwrite the original concept for my WOL's unsundered version.
My friend was replaying TMGS4 and I asked her to date my favorite guy even though he isn't her type. I definitely recommend receiving updates from the cuck chair. I keep forgetting details every time I read his wiki page because I find it more alluring the less I know about him. The glasses stay ON!!!
So far this year, I have watched the touring productions of Book of Mormon, Beetlejuice, and Monty Python's Spamalot. I never watched Monty Python prior, but I remember it being popular back in middle/high school; I suspected it wouldn't be to my taste, but I'm glad I finally experienced it. I think the only musical I have left on my list this year is Phantom of the Opera (my friend's favorite musical), and maybe I'll catch the Hadestown OBC proshot in theater too.
The kickstarter for TOMB QUEST was finally announced so I am going to definitely back that!!! I'm so excited for it and especially AJ and Clark and Corey. And I'm also excited for S1 of REALM too. Unsurprisingly, I love Jon's character sooo much LOL.
The last time I was interested in BJDs was a bit after Volks Alto was released, and I recently decided to check out what's new and I fell in love with Reda, who I feel like has a similar feel to Alto. He also reminds me of Avery from SWSH lol hehehe... >_> I was originally going to try a proxy service, but decided it'd be fun to enter the USA lotto even though the chances are super low. I also joined the lottery for May for no other reason than she's just too kayoot!
I think it's crazy how I went from last posting about loving ~16cm dolls to now a 65+cm one, but I guess love is irrational... Actually, while flip flopping over Reda or a FCS sculpt, I ended up yolo purchasing Genji because he is just so readily available even two years after his re-release. I actually had a DOD Si (requested zen's default makeup & ears pierced lol) I received back in Jan 2007, but I didn't have the means to do anything with him other than letting him sit on my shelf, so I went a little overboard after realizing I'm an adult with a credit card job now. I haven't been able to find 16 or 18mm glass eyes with small irises and I have a feeling that the ones I ordered will be way too unflattering, that is, if I manage to remove all that hot glue stuck in his head *scared* I'm also a bit bummed I don't really like the material used for the outfit I purchased either, but live and learn!!!!!!
I already lost the lotto for these gorgeous cherry blossom glass eyes so knowing my luck... >__>
january 02, 2026
It's been a while huh... This year, I'm doing a bingo board for my new year resolution, and one of the tiles is to make at least 5 blog posts, so here we are XD I'll start by recapping some highlights of 2025 as a cheat post to get the ball rolling.
Here are some of the fun stuff from my #買ってよかったもの2025 lol!
I got really into SuperBat last January; I was browsing fanfics from a completely different fandom, noticed an author bookmark ship-to-ship combat by pomeloquat, and it all spiraled from there (I love fanfics about fanfics). I also started collecting some comics and art. I'm kind of embarrassed by my terrible spending in 2025... but also extremely chuffed, so here are some photos of what I got LOL.
World's Finest (1999) and also Incredible Hulk Vs. Superman have such awesome beautiful art and saw that Steve Rude's commissions were open, so of course I went for it! I love how he draws such a classic and handsome Superman. *swoon* His commission slots are 20% off right now, actually, if anyone happens to be reading. My request was for Superman and Batman to take a selfie together. I think he nailed it and hopefully some day I can make another SuperBat request. *sighs wistfully*
It was fun waking up early to try snagging a spot on Chris Samnee's list. I requested for Superman to be smiling, and he made the edit in pencil but ended up not inking it LOL (pretty funny). I also managed to get one of his doodles with Superman in a squinty eyed smile. My greedy desire is for him to work on a World's Finest or Superman Batman team up comic someday. He's so awesome at using chunky blacks and visual storytelling. I really need to read Batman & Robin: Year One (2024).
Kryptonite Spectrum is soooo fun and I think Martin Morazzo's art feels kind of nostalgic—it somehow reminds me of old smackjeeves webcomics?!?! I need to finish reading, but I did get spoiled and *SPOILER ALERT* I think the ending is sooo funny and fanfic-core with Superman turning into a baby and everyone having to collectively raise him. Jeez, I'm going heh heh heh heh right now thinking about it. I wonder if they are celebrating Superman or Batman's birthday?! Heh heh heh... I love how he draws Superman's beefy neck and toothy Spongebob smile and windswept hair.

I tried blogging again in 2025 but only managed a single post; here it is, as I have since deleted it.
(wracking my brain for other fun stuff)
...
I got to watch early screenings of Superman (2025) and Wake Up Dead Man! I wish I splurged to watch other touring productions, but I did get to watch Hadestown (twice!); Hades and Eurydice had very strong performances and watching different depictions of the characters is soooo delightful. Swerving back to StarKid for a brief moment, but I wish I could find a boot of AJ Holmes in Book of Mormon?! XD

Sometimes (all the time) you're just depressed and want to ~*KYS*~, but the excitement of waiting for a treat to arrive abates it for a bit... my wallet is negative but my mental is slightly above zero. LOL. Looking back, I'm like oh yeah I was so incredibly insane with spending money but um, that is my delusional rationale behind it all. Another side note, I think it was really sane of me to finally let my FFXIV house explode. It's a bummer because my uncle-brothers helped me purchase my nice beachfront medium before housing became lottery, but I'm happy the next person gets to enjoy it. :')

I've run out of things to say for now, but maybe I'll come back to edit this post. Thank you. *bows*
